Some shawls are pretty. This one is a conversation.
Prism Break is an asymmetrical shawl worked on the bias, and here's why that matters: Noro's famously unpredictable color transitions cascade diagonally across the fabric in bold, shifting stripes that look far more complex than they are to knit. Big, open double eyelets keep things interesting without ever getting fussy, and a delicate picot bind-off finishes the edge with just the right amount of polish.
The result is a generous 74" shawl that drapes beautifully and knits up in just two hanks of Noro Sonata Shima. Compliments guaranteed.
Prism Break was originally designed as the group project for the KNITopia Japan Cruise 2026, a piece meant to be cast on together, worked side by side at sea, and finished with a little help from friends. You don't need to have been there to love it. But knowing where it came from makes it a little more special.

SIMPLE STITCHES, QUIET MINDS: A MINDFUL SCARF PROJECT
The best patterns for finding calm? The ones you don't have to think too hard about.
This project lets you choose from two beautifully-uncomplicated stitch patterns, one knitted and one crocheted, each with an easy-to-memorize, one-row repeat that lets your hands find their rhythm while your mind finds its calm.
These stitches are perfect for building a mindfulness practice through craft: simple enough to become second nature, interesting enough to hold your gentle attention, and just the thing for creating a cozy, warm, reversible scarf.
As you work, the repetitive motion becomes meditative. There’s no need to constantly check a pattern or count (and re-count) complicated sequences. Just settle into the soothing cadence of your stitches and let the tension of the day unravel along with your yarn.
It's just what a busy maker needs to slow down, stitch by stitch.
Optional Kit Available While Supplies Last: Treat yourself to a curated kit featuring soft, airy yarn in your choice of gorgeous colorwasy, perfectly chosen for this project.
And don't worry about being bombarded by emails.
I'm not that organized! <grin>
