PRISM BREAK SHAWL
Some shawls are pretty. This one is a conversation.
Prism Break is an asymmetrical shawl worked on the bias, and here's why that matters: Noro's famously unpredictable color transitions cascade diagonally across the fabric in bold, shifting stripes that look far more complex than they are to knit. Big, open double eyelets keep things interesting without ever getting fussy, and a delicate picot bind-off finishes the edge with just the right amount of polish.
The result is a generous 74" shawl that drapes beautifully and knits up in just two hanks of Noro Sonata Shima. Compliments guaranteed.
Prism Break was originally designed as the group project for the KNITopia Japan Cruise 2026, a piece meant to be cast on together, worked side by side at sea, and finished with a little help from friends. You don't need to have been there to love it. But knowing where it came from makes it a little more special.
