MIND-BLOWING TIPS & TRICKS
with Keith Leonard
Join us as Keith shares some of his favorite and best knitting tips and tricks to make your knitting easier and more professional!
Keith covers these and much more!
Is the first stitch of your knitting loose? Do you cast on a new project in both knit and purl?
How do I avoid that annoying "gap" when casting on, and binding off in the round?
Is the last stitch of your bind off loose? How much yarn do you need for the long tail cast on?
Why aren’t my stitches even?
What is the proper way to measure? Should I slip the first stitch of every row? Are you still using "make one" increases?
What is the best bind off for garter stitch?
TOP-DOWN SWEATER CONSTRUCTION with Mary Annarella
This 3-hour class gives you practice with various sweater types using top-down construction (drop shoulder, set-in sleeve, circular yoke, saddle shoulder, raglan, and compound raglan).
We will explore fit considerations for each sweater type as well as how to modify to suit to personal taste and preference. We’ll also give special attention to the placement of short rows to raise the back of the neck of circular yoke sweaters as well as a solution for how to deal with a pesky short row when returning to working in the round.
WOW! CONTINENTAL KNITTING!
with Keith Leonard
Do you "throw" or knit English Style (with the yarn in your right hand?)
Have you gazed upon Continental Knitters and wished you had the slick speed with which they knit? If so, THIS is the class for you.
As an English Style Knitter, it was important for Keith to learn Continental knitting in order to demonstrate different techniques to different knitters. However, he quickly learned the AMAZING advantages of knowing and using both knitting styles. Join Keith as he teaches multiple ways to tension your yarn, knit and purl Continental style. With your new knowledge and skillset, we will practice different stitch patterns and find a new ease when knitting colorwork!
